Okay so I need to update my blog. Thanks Cari for reminding me =0). Not too much has happened since I blogged last.
I have been obsessively reading the Twilight Series it took me 1 1/2 months to read all four. Any other books would have taken me years. I am just sorry it took me so long to get into the series. I have downloaded the 5th so I can start reading that as well.

We butchered our first cow from the property. This was huge for us. We have spent the last two years make our dream of having the property provide a few food options for us. We have 6 cows to raise sell and or butcher, we have a 50'x60' garden that did very well last year. And we plan to add chickes (for the eggs) this spring. My girlfriend Lisa and I did not watch the event. We hung out by the fire while the boys took care of everything. Jerald had to use "MY" durango to pull the cow out of the property(of course it was deceased). He had to pull it because the meat packaging truck could not drive to the cow due to all the snow. Jer thought he was pretty cool pulling a 1,000 lb load with my car.

We had to get some hay for the animals. We planned to get two ton's because our awesome hay people will be in Hawaii for 6 weeks and we needed to ensure that we would not run out. When Jer and I got to their house Jim said "why don't I just hook my truck up to the trailer and we will just take the whole load to your property." "Use what you use and I will just get my trailer and what hay is left when I get back in town." I thought that was great of him to offer. Of course we paid him for the two ton's and we will square up on any additional hay we use. There is just something awesome about Jim and Irene. I fell in love with them the first time I met them. I believe people walk into your life for more than one reason. As many of you know I have loved horses since I was little. My grandfather was a great horseman and I thank him for sparking my curiosity. By the time I purchased my first horse my grandfather had passed and I was unable to share my experiences with him or learn from him as I wish I could.
Without having to ask, Jim has offered up some helpful information and advise that will help us with our "horseman" experience's. Jer and I both thought that was great! I think he will be a great person to learn from, a true cowboy. Not that he will replace my grandpa , but maybe he was brought into my life to help me where grandpa can't.
The property has become a muddy, slick mess since all the snow has melted. Jim got his diesel stuck and we had to dig the snow out from under the tires and put some mulch down to help him get traction. Once we got him unstuck and he parked the flat bed trailer we gave him a quick tour of the property. It was nice to hear his praises on what we have done with the property. I have always joked with him about us being "city slickers" that do things the hard way. I think he sees us in a different light now =0).
When it was time for us to leave the property he got his truck stuck again. So Jer used "MY' durango to pull him up the steep drive of the property. I don't know what we would do with out our Dodge Durango.... Eat your heart out FORDS!!!!!
