Topaz Mountain

We spent the day at Topaz Mountain with Levi & Nicole.
It was a warm and Beautiful day!

Jer found a "vug" that he dug as deep as his arm would
reach.

Jer found some real nice Topaz & purple Amethyst.

The Boys had a great time digging and climbing the mountain.
It's a fun way for them to burn off a little energy!!

A pumpkin a day will keep the Vet away!

So my horse has been acting a little weird since Thursday night. He has not willingly let us halter him. He would rather have us make him run than to surrender, although everyday we have finally gotten him to surrender so we could halter him. Tonight we went out to check on him and again to halter him, he was putting up a fuss as expected. I noticed he reacted funny when I put pressure on his nose. I fought with him for a few minutes and the sent him on a little jog. I walked out into the pasture where he came to rest and got him to walk up to me. As always I was talking to him asking him what was wrong and rubbing my hands all over his head. In doing so I realized that his eyes have been “buggery” and that his sinuses looked swollen. So I asked him if he had a cold. Yes I like to think that he told me what was wrong instead of it being “common sense” or “a mothers instinct” . So- what do you do when your kid has a cold???? You give them fruits and veggies that have vitamin C right!! So we gave Beau a bunch of fresh carrots from the garden. Jerald said “pumpkins have vitamin C don’t they?” I told him "pumpkins are good for horses so we might as well give it a shot." So here is Beau with his first pumpkin!

Jer though he would just sniff it, nope he took a big old bite!

Jer held on to the pumpkin as long as he could.

As soon as Jer put what was left of the pumpkin in Beau's bucket he didn't want it any more.

Round up

Today we decided to switch Beau and the baby cow's places with the big cows due to a feed shortage. We used our heads and decided to use Beau to round up the cows and move them to the new location instead of us chasing them on foot. I moved the big cows down to the back side on Beau while Jer and the boys worked on moving the babies to the other side of the gate. The boys gotone baby through the gate and the last one was giving the boys grief so we ended up using Beau to get the last baby moved and I turned it over to Jer to finish up. It is a lot of fun using Beau to
push the cows. He gets so excited when he gets to work.

The boy's are such a big help! I didn't get a pic of Bray cuz he
was on Baby cow duty =0(

I took this picture right before we
left. I just love Utah Mtns.

Jer and I both took a camera so we could take
our own pictures. It's fun to compare the pictures we take.
It's almost like a contest to see who takes the best ones.

A day well spent with my Hubby!!

What I did for my Birthday!!

Well my day at work was not much fun. But when I got home
Jer, bray, Alex and I packed up hotdogs, potato salad and a
cake and went down to the property for a "weenie" roast.
We spent the first 1 1/2 hrs riding beau
(which was exactly what I wanted) and then my girlfriend
and her husband meet us at the property. We had a camp fire and
roasted hotdogs. It was a very relaxing evening.
